Hunter Hayes will have someone by his side at the 2014 CMA Awards on Wednesday night (Nov. 5). The 'Tattoo' singer says his date is "gorgeous" before adding, "I'm very lucky."

"She is a total sweetheart," he told Taste of Country Nights radio host Sam Alex prior to the 48th Annual CMA Awards on ABC. Not wanting to embarrass her, Hayes declined to provide more information -- not even her the first letter of her name.

No, it's not his manager, a person he's performing with (Spoiler alert: Hayes will share the stage with the Doobie Brothers), or his grandmother. Although, Hayes' grandmother is coming to town for the awards.

For the most part, Hayes has kept his love life under wraps. As busy as he's been in 2014, it's tough to believe he's had time to fire up a romance. The 'Invisible' hitmaker told ToC he reached all of his goals in 2014.

"I wanted to launch an arena tour, we've now started our second one," he says. "I wanted to give everybody in the audience wristbands ... I've been wanting to do that for awhile, but I said this is the year we've got to do it."

"I wanted to break the world record ... 10 shows in a day in 10 different cities," Hayes adds. "We did that. We almost did 11, actually."

"I wanted to put out the second album, and I wanted it to not feel rushed and I wanted to feel happy with it and give it the time it deserved to be made and that kind of stuff."

He succeeded there, too -- 'Storyline' has been named one of the Best Albums of 2014 by Taste of Country.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
