Brain’s Family Christmas Tree Is Up!

With my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, in the rearview mirror, it was finally time to think Christmas this weekend. And that meant it was time for the Christmas tree to go up and the holiday tunes to begin!

The first issue was getting a tree. We've enjoyed real trees that past several Christmases. But we'd honestly grown a bit tired of the mess. So it was back to artificial this year. Several retailers had trees on sale for Black Friday, so it was my mission to get one. Our first choice was gone, but we settled on a nice 7 and a half foot unlit tree. After a quick assembly, it was time to decorate.

Our family tree is a mixture of all kinds of decorations from throughout the years. Of course, we have some of the cute homemade ornaments that our kids Chase, Carly, and Cayleigh have made throughout the years. Then we have lots of ornaments from our favorite films and TV shows including Star Wars and A Christmas Story.

I love the look and feel of our tree this year. Holly really is a great decorator and I give her all the credit. Having the tree up really got me in the mode for Christmas this weekend. I even purchased a holiday album and watched some of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! Yes, it's true, the holidays are here!
