The results are in and we have a winner in the Presidential race in Iowa. At least according to school children in the state. In the annual youth straw poll, Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton.

Trump garnered 45% of the vote compared to just over 35% for Clinton. Over 300 middle and high schools across Iowa took part in the straw poll. The annual event is organized by the Iowa Secretary of State's office and give students a chance to weigh in on the presidential race as well as U.S House and Senate races.

In Linn County, the results were a bit different. Students at Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Linn-Mar in Marion gave the presidential race to Hillary Clinton, 46% to 34%. Even with that wide win by the Democrat running for president, Chuck Grassley and Rod Blum, both Republicans, both won their races by wide margins.
