Would You Try Everything Bagel Ice Cream?

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams has an interesting new flavor!

One of my absolute favorite breakfast orders is an everything bagel with cream cheese (garden veggie cream cheese, if they have it), but I'm not sure about the decision to turn it into ice cream! A new article from Mental Floss reveals that Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams has come up with a unique new flavor that imitates the taste of an everything bagel with cream cheese. The website says that it contains "buttery streusel laden with sesame, poppy seeds—and yes, onions and garlic—schmeared throughout subtly sweet cream cheese ice cream."

Jeni's is known for creating out-of-the-ordinary flavors of ice cream. Some of the other ones available on the website include Goat Cheese with Red Cherries, Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, and Middle West Whiskey & Pecans. It might be difficult to get your hands on a pint of Jeni's here in Eastern Iowa. According to the official website, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is only available in two stores within 100 miles of Cedar Rapids: Bread Garden Market & Bakery in Iowa City and Everybody's Whole Foods in Fairfield. You can also get a pint online for $12, but there is a minimum order of four pints and an additional shipping cost of around $13. I don't think I'm willing to pay that much to try it, but maybe I'll stop by Bread Garden Market the next time I'm in Iowa City and see if they have it!
