Woman Facing Felony Charges After Stealing and Painting Neighbor’s Goat

A woman from Gulf Shores, Alabama has been arrested on charges of animal cruelty after police say she painted her neighbor's goat and took it without permission.

Erica Marie Farmer, 34, was arrested for Theft of Property (2nd Charge), but in the state of Alabama, theft of livestock is a felony charge.

Deputies say Farmer decided to remove the goat from the neighbor's property to bring home and show to her child. At some point, she decided to paint the goat blue and green.

The goat's owner realized it was missing and called a different neighbor, who told them they'd seen the photos of a painted goat on social media. It was then that the goat's owner called the police.

The farmer had the goat in her possession when the police arrived.
