Why Thanksgiving Just Might Be My Favorite Day Of The Year!

I stand up for Thanksgiving.  The holiday that is being buried by Christmas more and more each year.  Black Friday sales now start on Thanksgiving evening!  Holiday lights and displays are up.  What about the turkey?  The stuffing?  Giving Thanks?  I love Thanksgiving.  It's my favorite holiday.  What's not to love?

Let's start with the food.  Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, pumpkin pie.  Seconds please!  Throw an alcoholic beverage or two (more depending on your family) and you've got the meal of the year!  Whats better after a great meal than a killer nap.  Nothing is better than drifting off to dream in the recliner after stuffing yourself with bird!  Only to awakened with the sound of FOOTBALL!  Can this day get any better?

I think the real reason I love Thanksgiving is it's relaxed.  The hustle and bustle of the holidays can get to you.  But Thanksgiving is all about slowing things down.  Having a great meal with family and friends, and saying thanks for all the blessings we have.  So this Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for....well....Thanksgiving!  I hope you and yours enjoy this special time, and are able to thankful for all you have.  Happy Thanksgiving!
