Walker Hayes Cancels Dubuque Appearance Friday After Death of Newborn

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I must tell you that Walker and Laney Hayes have lost their seventh child. Oakleigh Klover Hayes was born yesterday morning and, according to this social media post, "now is safely in heaven."

The child's official due date was Friday, June 8, the same day Walker was to perform at America's River Festival in Dubuque. The America's River Festival website posted this message:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Walker Hayes must regretfully cancel his performance at America’s River Festival. More information and an updated schedule will be released by 5pm, Thursday, June 7, 2018. See more here.***

It's been announced that Restless Heart will fill the slot that Walker was originally scheduled to play. They will be on stage from 7:30 to 8:30 Friday night, between Lindsay Ell and High Valley. Walker rose to national prominence last year with his breakout hit, 'You Broke Up With Me.' He and Laney have three sons and three daughters at home.
