The fire reportedly broke out around 7 Tuesday morning on a bus with 20 students on board. The Oakland, Carson, and Macedonia fire departments all responded to the scene in a rural driveway southeast of Oakland, in the Riverside Community School District. A dispatcher said the driver wasn't able to be contacted and the Omaha World-Herald reports that the bus was "engulfed in flames" when firefighters arrived.

Once the fire was controlled, the bodies of two people were found inside. KCCI says the school district has confirmed the driver and one student were killed in the fire. They've been identified as 74-year-old Donald Hendricks and 16-year-old Megan Klindt.

The Riverside Community School District has approximately 730 students. Our thoughts are with the entire district and everyone on the bus Tuesday morning.
