Tipton Hosted the Coolest Market Ever on Saturday [PHOTOS]
The Cedar County Fairgrounds were VERY busy on Friday and Saturday!
Sometime last week, I came across an event on Instagram that piqued my interest. It was called the Good Makers Market, and it was set to return to Tipton on September 4th and 5th. I had never heard of it before, but the photos looked incredible, so I decided to check it out. On Saturday morning, I got up early and made my way to the Cedar Country Fairgrounds, and I'm SO glad I did!
According to the official website, the Good Makers Market is "Eastern Iowa's Hippest Market." It says you can "shop handmade artisan goods, score some amazing vintage, shop our on trend mobile boutiques, eat from our delicious food trucks and listen to local live music." The gates to the market were set to open at 9 a.m., but when I arrived at 8:50, the line was already beginning to wrap around the fairgrounds. That's how I knew it was gonna be good!
The market featured more than 100 hand-picked vendors from all around the Midwest with everything from clothing to home decor to homemade jewelry and soap to vintage thrift store finds. Within the first 15 minutes, I knew that I was going to blow through the budget I set for myself. I ended up with some birthday gifts, a homemade fabric pumpkin, a blanket, a bleached flannel, a "pupcake" for Tater, and the vintage chest OF MY DREAMS. I have been looking for an old wood chest to use as a coffee table for months and months and months, and then, all of a sudden, there it was. The right place, the right time, the right price... everything was PERFECT! Here's what it looks like in my living room (along with the pumpkin and blanket):
Here are a few more photos I took at the market:
The spring Good Makers Market is set for May 27th & 28th of 2022! You can read more about the event HERE.
