A legendary Iowa football star will return to where it all began. Tim Dwight is returning to Iowa City.

If you're old enough to remember Tim Dwight in an Iowa Hawkeye uniform, you should be smiling. He was electric every time he touched the football. Dwight was an All-American kick returner at Iowa before taking his talents to the NFL. He played for several teams, including the Falcons, Chargers, Jets, and Patriots. He even returned a kick for a touchdown in the Super Bowl!

Where Will Tim Dwight Be Coaching?

Eliot Clough, a Hawkeye insider, broke the news this morning that Dwight will be returning to his alma mater, Iowa City High!

Dwight will return to Iowa City to coach special teams and running backs at City High, two positions he knows a little something about!

What Did Tim Dwight Do in High School?

What didn't he do? The Iowa City Press Citizen reports that Dwight earned a reputation as one of the top athletes to ever come out of the state of Iowa. In football, he helped the Little Hawks go 23-1 in his final two years, winning the state title in 1993. He was also a 12-time state champion in track and field, leading City High to three straight state championships, according to the Press Citizen. He was selected for the National High School High School Hall of Fame earlier this spring.

The Little Hawks went 6-3 last season and lost in the first round of the Class 5A Playoffs. Dwight will no doubt be a huge addition to head coach Mitch Moore in Iowa City.
