I'M IN.

It has just been brought to my attention that there is a pizza festival here in Iowa and it's happening in less than two weeks! The 4th Annual Pizza Fest will take place at The District at Prairie Trail in Ankeny on June 1st from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. The festival celebrates all things pizza, with local pizzerias, restaurants, and food trucks vying for the title of 'Best of the Fest.'

You'll, of course, be able to try all of the wonderful pizzas available at the festival, but there are also some other events and attractions. For example, there is a Pizza Party Fun Zone for kids. The official website reads:

"The kids will love the Pizza Party Fun Zone, with all kinds of games and activities…like Pepperoni Ring Toss, Pizza Play Dough Station, and sidewalk chalk. Kids can get a temporary tattoo, their face painted and more! And from 4:30 – 7:30 pm, they can meet the Snow Sisters, Polynesian Princess and Super Hero from Storybook Adventures and the League of Heros!"

There will also be a pizza eating contest, with the grand prize being free pizza for a YEAR from Fong's Pizza! And, don't miss the live music. Andy Grammer ("Honey, I'm Good" & "Keep Your Head Up") will headline the festival at 9:45 p.m. Two opening acts will go on before him.

Admission for Pizza Fest is free, but there are some special ticket options for the Andy Grammer performance. You can get more details on that HERE.
