The month of October is National Pork Month, which means that the finalists for the 19th annual Iowa’s Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin Contest have just been revealed!

A new press release from the Iowa Pork Producers Association names all five of the finalists in this year's competition, which were chosen from almost 6,000 nominations! Here are those finalists:

According to the press release:
"The five restaurants with the most nominations from each of IPPA’s eight districts—for a total of 40 from around the state—were reviewed during the summer by IPPA’s restaurant and foodservice committee. Leading contenders were then turned over to undercover judges who scored tenderloins on the quality of the pork, taste, physical characteristics, and eating experience."

The grand prize winner will be announced later in the month and will win a plaque, a banner, $500, and a WHOLE lot of publicity. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any of this year's finalists are close to us here in Eastern Iowa, but that's ok! There's always next year. You can read more about the annual Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin Contest from the Iowa Pork Producers on their website HERE.

We want to hear about YOUR number one tenderloin here in the Corridor. Tell us what your finalists would be, and feel free to share a photo if you have one! Here's the one Brain had at this summer's Great Jones County Fair...
