With iPods, iPhones, and iPads, you might be asking, "is an Apple Watch REALLY necessary?" Apparently, some people think so.

The Apple Watch was unveiled about 6 months ago, but more details about the device were given out yesterday from Apple CEO Tim Cook. The Apple Watch can pretty much do anything that your iPhone can do. In fact, you can control your iPhone FROM your Apple Watch. It can play music, take calls, email, and track your exercise. It also allows two watch owners to send eachother animated messages and imprints of their heartbeats (which seems TOTALLY ridiculous to me. WHY would you EVER need to do that?!). Oh, and it of course tells time.

The most ridiculous thing about the Apple Watch, though, is the price. Sure, there's an affordable option, the entry level Watch Sport for $350-$400, but THEN there are the fancy versions. The mid-tier will cost you between $550 and $1,100, and the top of the line watch will cost you over TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. For a fancy computer WATCH. Even if I won the lottery, there's no way I would ever pay that much for a watch! I don't even NEED a watch, or even a smart watch! That's what my iPhone is for!

But, maybe I'm crazy! Maybe there are a ton of people out there who are dying to get their hands on one of these! If you're one of those people, it officially goes on sale on April 24.
