I truly mean it when I say that you can NEVER have too much Mexican food!

Thanks to The Gazette, I just found out about a new restaurant that opened up in Coralville last month. It's called La Vecina, and it's located at 211 E 9th St in the Iowa River Landing. It's owned by the name people who own Clinton Street Social Club and Marquee Pizzeria.

La Vecina is not your ordinary Mexican restaurant. According to The Gazette:

"La Vecina features Mexican food cooked over a wood fire, with the kitchen open to the dining room so customers can watch their food roasting and smoking over the flames."

The menu offers lots of seafood and masa (flour made from heirloom corn), with a focus on the Mexican regions of Oaxca and Baja. Some of the options are elotes, ceviche, guacamole, and various kinds of tacos and tostadas, plus dishes that include wood baked oysters, grilled octopus, and wood grilled shrimp. They also have a drink menu with wine, craft beer, and cocktails like the Millennial Margarita and The Field of Dreams. You can check out the full menu HERE.

The new restaurant sounds very unique and a little bit fancy! Here are some photos of La Vecina from Instagram to give you a little taste:

La Vecina is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. If you go check it out soon, make sure you let us know how it is in the comments!
