The Best Small Town Bar in the State of Iowa [PHOTOS]
If you live in the city of Cedar Rapids, you are less than two hours away from the best small town bar in Iowa! The website Thrillist put together a list titled, "The Best Small Town Bar in Every State," with the winner for Iowa coming from the city of Pella.
With a population of just over 10,000 people, Pella is most well-known for their Tulip Time Festival, which features parades, Dutch costumes & demonstrations, performances, and a whole lot more. But now, Pella can also be known for The Cellar Peanut Pub. Located at 629 Franklin St., The Cellar Peanut Pub seems to be very serious about their beer. The article states:
"There's a steady stream of hard-to-find beers from Iowa's emergent brewery scene on tap and other Midwest destinations in addition to a best-of-the-best from across the country, all served up by beer lovers eager to convert even the most ardent lover of adjunct lagers into disciples of craft, with knitting, bingo, and live-music nights keeping things lively. It's the kind of beer bar you'd expect to come across in a city like Portland, smacked into a small Iowa town."
The Cellar Peanut Pub website states that the bar has also won Best Beer Bar in Iowa and Best Bloody Mary in Iowa. The next time you find yourself in Pella, make sure you check this place out!
