Chances are you went to this year's Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. And if you did, you probably noticed there were a TON of people.

There's always a lot of people at the state fair, but this year just blew all of the previous year's out of the water. According to a press release, the Iowa State Fair claims that 1,170,375 people attended this year, breaking the all-time record by 40,115 people. Holy crowd!

There's a lot to do at the fair from the concerts and rides to checking out all of the delicious food stands. Between all of that, it's no wonder why so many people visit every year. The Grandstand concerts alone brought in 128,516 people. Slipknot had 17,032 concert-goers, Luke Bryan had an audience of 15.272, and Dan + Shay's crowd totaled 15,070. The rest of the concert attendance total came from the other eight performances over the course of eleven days.

Not only did musical acts come, but so did presidential candidates. There were 23 candidates that stopped by to speak at the Des Moines Register soap box during the event. The record breaking doesn't stop there though. The Sale of Champions, which supports student scholarships, had five record-breaking sales. DART Park & Ride provided 253,217 rides this year, the highest number since 2006 when they began offering the Park & Ride Service.

Another big attraction of the fair broke records too-- the food. After all of the festivities were over, food vendors supported the Food Bank of Iowa by donating 5,475 pounds of leftover food.

All in all, it was another amazing year for the Iowa State Fair and we can't wait to see what Iowa can do in 2020!
