Taco John’s Announces Opening Date for New Hiawatha Location

Great news for taco lovers and residents of Hiawatha!

According to The Cedar Rapids Gazette, a new Taco John's will be opening at 1940 Blairs Ferry Road in Hiawatha on May 1. The location will be owned and operated by Pentex Restaurant Group.

The new restaurant will sit closest to Blairs Ferry Road in the Peck's Landing development at the corner of Blairs Ferry and Edgewood Road N.E. The drive-through window is clearly visible on the Blairs Ferry side of the building when passing by. The building Taco John's will be in is 2,091 square foot. The restaurant will employ 30. This will be the first Taco John's in Hiawatha and the 62nd here in the state of Iowa. There are two other locations in Cedar Rapids on Edgewood Road NW and First Avenue SE. Taco John's open its first location 50 years ago, in 1969.
