Story Behind Highway 100 Signs
I was on Highway 100 late this morning and saw two of these very unique signs. I had my passenger snap a picture of it, 'cause I had to find out more. When I got back to the station, I called to get the back-story. Turns out a gentleman was moving a bunch of furniture from Cedar Rapids to Hiawatha late this past Saturday afternoon (between 5 and 6). He thought he had everything well secured (I've been there myself), only to receive a tap on the window at a stop light. He was informed he'd lost an ottoman along Highway 100, between I-380 and Edgewood Road. It was brown leather and, when he returned to pick it up, nowhere to be found. If you happened to be the person that picked it up thinking someone may have discarded of it, please give the number a call. His wife may never let him put his feet up again if he doesn't find it and, if that's not enough, he's offering a reward...
