[UPDATE Thursday, June 6 1:55 p.m.] The family tells us that the body of Colton Allen has been found in the pond. No further information has been released at this time.

[UPDATE Thursday, June 6 1 pm] Washington County authorities say they have enough volunteers to aid in the search.

16-year-old Colton Allen has been reported missing in rural Johnson County, south of Kalona. The family reached out to us, asking for the public's help locating the missing teen. Colton went missing around 6 pm Wednesday, June 5th. His family says he was known to be swimming in a pond. After searching until approximately 1:30 Thursday morning, the search is again underway.

In a release, the Washington County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) says Colton was at a gathering east of the 1500 block of Highway One, about 4.4 miles south of Kalona. He was wearing only swim trunks when he was last seen and left his cell phone at the gathering.

Colton is 16 years old, 5'7", and 185 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, according to the release from the WCSO. He is pictured on the left above in the photo.

Anyone who had contact with a person matching that description last night or today, please report it to authorities. Emergency agencies from multiple jurisdictions continue to work and search the area.
