The overnight stops for this year’s ride have been announced. Here’s where the (RAGBRAI) Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa will be stopping this July.

The 2017 ride, RAGBRAI XLIV (45), will be July 23 thru 29. It begins in Orange City.

Sunday, riders will make the trek from Orange City to Spencer.

Monday, bikers will travel from Spencer to Algona.

Tuesday, riders will go from Algona to Clear Lake.

Wednesday, July 26, RAGBRAI will travel from Clear Lake to Charles City.

Thursday, it's Charles City to Cresco.

Friday, RAGBRAI riders will pedal from Cresco to Waukon.

Saturday, it's Waukon on to the traditional dipping of front tires in the Mississippi, this time in Lansing, Iowa.

This year's route is a total of 411 miles, the third-shortest in the history of the ride! It's also a very northerly route this year.

The annual announcement of the RAGBRAI route is one of Iowa's promises that summer will be here before we know it. Even after such a warm January day, we can all be glad of that.
