Popular Italian Restaurant Relocating in CR and IC

Cedar Rapids' Zio Johno's Italian restaurant will be moving soon to a new location at 3120 Edgewood Rd SW, in the old Fazoli's building.

According to the Gazette, the popular restaurant will be in its new home in just a few short months and it will serve as a model for future franchise expansions.

Eli Khairallah, who owns the Zio Johno’s chain in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Marion and North Liberty, said remodeling has begun on the 3,600-square-foot building on the city's Southwest side in preparation for moving from their location at 2925 Williams Parkway SW.

“We should be open at the former Fazoli’s building within two months,” owner Eli Khairallah told the Gazette. “We have had good business at our current location. We were planning to remodel the building, but we would rather spend the money where the restaurant will have more visibility.”

The Zio Johno’s at 953 S. Riverside Dr. in Iowa City will be relocated to space in the former Paul’s Discount building at 424 Highway 1, he said. It's expected that that location will be open in about three and a half months.
