The Czech Village has some new businesses to check out during your next visit! Back in late December, three pop-up shops at the Pohoda Patio began welcoming customers.

About the Pohoda Patio

According to an article from KCRGPohoda Patio & Pop Ups is a new gathering space in the Czech Village. It's located right in between Salon South and the newly-opened book store & coffee shop I'll Meet You There. In fact, Jaymie McGrath, the owner of I'll Meet You There, is one of the people who helped bring the pop-up shops to the area!

The pop-up shops at the Pohoda Patio serve as a way for small businesses to have a presence in an already busy Cedar Rapids neighborhood. The article from KCRG reads:

"With the pop-up concept, small businesses have a shorter and less expensive lease than a typical storefront, and short term options are available."

As of right now, all three of the pop-up shops at the Pohoda Patio are filled. Here are the three businesses you can check out:

Heartland Supply Company

The very first shop you'll see off of 16th Ave SW is Heartland Supply Company. If that business sounds familiar, you may have stopped by their original location at the West End Shops in Marion. The Marion location is currently closed until the spring, but the Czech Village location is open for business!

According to the Facebook page, Heartland Supply Company is "a modern day general store that carries thoughtfully curated goods." The shop carries clothing, accessories, jewelry, candles, candy, essential oils, bath & body products, seasonal items, and more. I was just in there a couple of weeks ago, and I ended up buying a Crunch Berry candle, some cute socks, chocolate covered peanuts, and the striped sweater you see below!

Heartland Supply Company's website says that their Cedar Rapids shop is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can check them out on Facebook HERE.

Casey Kasparek

The shop right in the middle of the Pohoda Patio is from a local artist named Casey Kasparek. According to his website, Casey is a Swisher-native and "a multidisciplinary artist exploring presence and story through portraiture and abstraction." At his shop, Casey offers paintings, prints, greeting cards, and more, all featuring his unique, original artwork.

Casey Kasparek's shop is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can check out more of his artwork on his official website HERE.

Lustara

Last, but not least, the final shop at the far end of the Pohoda Patio is Lustara. Lustara offers a variety of crystals and stones, as well as jewelry, tarot cards, and other metaphysical items. I've already been in twice to purchase a necklace and a gorgeous Carnelian Agate crystal point. They have so many cool things!

Lustara's hours are listed on Google as Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can check them out on Facebook HERE or Instagram HERE.
