Our Favorite Week 2 ‘American Idol’ Auditions [WATCH]
HOLY SMOKES! We only get one episode of 'American Idol' this week, but that's ok because they jammed a whole bunch of amazing singers into Sunday night's episode. It's getting increasingly difficult to pick my favorite contestants, just because there is such a huge amount of talent, but there is one performance that really stands out in my mind as the best this week. That performance was from Madison VanDenburg, a 16-year-old from upstate New York. She did a cover of Dan + Shay's "Speechless" that rivals the original. She was THAT good:
Another one of my favorites this week was Jake Puliti. He did an acoustic version of "This is How We Do It," which sounded great, but Katy Perry really stole the show with her attempt at break dancing:
And then there was contestant Shawn Robinson who did his own version of "Who You Are" by Jessie J. His flawless vocals were enough to make the great Lionel Richie jealous!
My final favorite of the week was 19-year-old Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon. His voice was incredible, but his story is what really got me. He grew up in his father's church and currently works as a janitor there, but he is also gay, which his family doesn't support. He auditioned with a song that he wrote called "Almost Heaven," which is about him wondering if there's still a place in Heaven for him, despite his sexual preference. It broke my heart into 8 billion pieces:
