O's Grill will soon transition from food truck to restaurant!

Back in early August, there was an announcement from the O's Grill Facebook page that had customers pretty excited. Owner Otmane Benjilany revealed that his mobile restaurant will soon be stationary! The post read:

"When I came to America – I had the dream of opening my own restaurant. My first step in this journey was to start with a food cart (and those who have been eating O’s for a while remember the little food cart I pulled with my Alero). From there we grew into the food trailer you know today. The food trailer was a great step in the right direction as it has allowed us to travel beyond Cedar Rapids to neighboring cities. My passion for cooking has only grown and my desire to own my own restaurant is even more apparent – and now O’s Grill is ready to take the next leap!"

At the time of the announcement, we didn't know exactly where the restaurant would be located, but we do now! Last week, a new photo from O's Grill showed a "COMING SOON" sign over a storefront with the address "3911." The full address is 3911 Center Point Rd. NE in Cedar Rapids, which is the building that once housed the restaurant called Great Dragon. If you're still not sure where that is, it's in the same parking lot as the Center Point Road KFC.

It doesn't look like there's an exact opening date yet, but a comment from O on Facebook revealed that they are hoping for a mid-October opening. O has also confirmed that, even when the restaurant opens, the food truck will still show up around town at big events, corporate lunches, and for catering jobs. In the meantime, you can still check out O's red food truck around town. It's closed this week, but you can follow the Facebook page for the latest updates HERE.
