A two-vehicle accident in rural Linn County Tuesday morning killed one person, and injured two others.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the accident at County Home Road and North 10th Street just before 8:25 a.m. Tuesday morning. Linn County Sheriff's Rescue, Marion Fire, Area Ambulance, and the Iowa Department of Public Safety Motor Vehicle Enforcement were all also dispatched to the scene.

Linn County Sheriff's Deputies found a semi had been traveling westbound on County Home Road when it struck a Nissan Rogue that was trying to cross northbound on North 10th Street. After the collision, the two vehicles went up into the yard of a vacant home in the 2400 block of County Home Road.

There were two people in the Nissan Rogue. The passenger died at the scene while the driver was transported to the hospital by Area Ambulance. The Linn County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the Rogue had serious injuries. The driver of the semi had minor injuries.

The injured driver of the Nissan Rogue was an 18-year-old female from Adel, Iowa. The passenger killed in the crash was 50-year-old David Dickson of Marion.

The driver of the semi was a 74-year-old man from Earlville, Iowa.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.

Cedar Rapids Police Still Seek Information in Weekend Crash

The Cedar Rapids Police Department continues to try to locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal accident on I-380 at Wright Brothers Boulevard early Sunday morning.

Police say the accident at around 2:30 a.m. on June 4 involved a motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Felicia Tharp of Coralville, who was killed. The CRPD says she struck a deer and they believe she was then hit by another vehicle. More information on the accident is available here.
