Cedar Rapids Police Looking for Vehicle Involved in Fatal Crash
The Cedar Rapids Police Department is trying to locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal accident over the weekend.
According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, officers responded to the scene of an accident at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 4 at I-380 and Wright Brothers Blvd. The crash, on the southbound side of I-380, involved a motorcycle and a second vehicle.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found evidence that showed a motorcycle struck a deer, and the motorcyclist then was involved in a collision with another vehicle. The operator of the motorcycle died from her injuries. She has been identified as 28-year-old Felicia Tharp of Coralville.
The driver of the other vehicle has not been located. Cedar Rapids Police are continuing with their investigation of the crash and are also trying to locate the driver of the second vehicle. Police believe Tharp was hit by the other vehicle after she struck the deer.
