Norman Lear, Iconic TV and Movie Producer, Passes Away at 101

Famed television producer Norman Lear, known best for his wildly successful TV sitcoms like All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Good Times, Maude, and Sanford and Sons, as well as many, many more.

Lear reportedly passed away at 101 years old, at home in his Los Angeles home Tuesday night. His family announced his passing on his website on Wednesday morning.

Lear also was the executive producer of some cult classic films like Fried Green Tomatoes, and The Princess Bride.

Even into his 90s, Lear continued to work. Alongside Jimmy Kimmel, 95-year-old Lear produced and hosted three episodes of his most iconic shows in the form of Live in Front Of A Studio Audience, which won Primetime Emmy Awards in 2019 and 2020. The series used current stars like Jamie Foxx, Woody Harrelson, Viola Davis, Kevin Hart, and more to recreate original episodes of The Jeffersons, All in the Family, and Good Times.

He will be missed.
