Music Icon David Bowie Passes Away

Singer, actor and music icon David Bowie has passed away. Sources say the singer was battling cancer for the past 18 months or so. Bowie was 69. The singer had just released his 25th studio album 'Blackstar' on his 69th birthday, January 8th.

Bowie wasn't just about music. He was a fashion icon and appeared in numerous films including one near and dear to both my wife and I, Labyrinth. Bowie also appeared in more recent films like The Prestige and Zoolander.

Bowie was also famous for his alter egos, perhaps none more famous than Ziggy Stardust. He wore androgynous clothing, and he instantly became a sex symbol to both men and women. The bottom line is that Bowie was original. He did things the way he wanted to. That's something we can all admire.
