Although all of these beers sound pretty good, there is one that I've tried and absolutely LOVE. Peace Tree's Blonde Fatale is probably my favorite beer ever. Peace Tree is a newer brewery, started in 2009 in Knoxville, IA, but the story behind their name is what makes them especially interesting. The Peace Tree is a grand sycamore that was once estimated to be the second largest in the world. It's located underneath Lake Red Rock near the town of Red Rock, IA. It was supposedly a popular meeting place for Native Americans for generations, where fur traders met and Indian treaties were negotiated. In the 60s, the Red Rock Dam was built to create a reservoir for the Des Moines River, and the 500-year-old Peace Tree was still left standing. The company says, "Our name, Peace Tree Brewing Company, serves as a reminder of our past – where different cultures met to discuss, trade and come to agreements." [Peace Tree Brewing]
