In the early morning hours of Monday, February 15th, Rocky Trujillo III was caught on surveillance video, walking into the Casey's convenience store located on North Third Avenue in Marshalltown.

Police say it was around 3:00 a.m. when he first came through the doors and made his way toward the cash register in an apparent robbery attempt. He then shot dead 48-year-old Michael West, a store employee.

Police spoke to witnesses who said they also saw him hold a gun to one customer's head, demanding their cell phone. He then assaulted another store employee before making his exit.
