Marion Wine Bar Closing Its Doors in the New Year

It appears that 2020 has got the best of another local business. This time it's a popular Marion wine bistro in eastern Iowa that is set to close up shop.

After almost a decade, Ramsey's Wine Bistro located at 1120 7th Ave in Marion announced that they will be closing their doors. The announcement stated:

"It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing Ramsey’s Wine Bistro will be closing permanently on January 16th. We love and cherish all whom have been through our doors, but we feel that we have run the course for our involvement in running a bar/restaurant...As everyone knows this year has been very trying for all in the industry. While we are holding on, partially from government assistance, we feel like this has been a sign that it is time for us to move on."

The announcement went on to reveal that the owners, LuAnn and Conrad Ramsey, plan to retire, travel and spend time with family following the closing. Although it will be sad to see another local business close permanently, we're happy for the owners in their new ventures.

If you haven't visited the bistro yet, you have until the doors shut for good on Saturday, January 16 to try it out.
