Luke Bryan’s ‘What Makes You Country’ Is Officially His 22nd No. 1 Single
Luke Bryan can't stop making hits! The superstar has a 22nd No. 1 single to his repertoire with "What Makes You Country."
The title track of Bryan's What Makes You Country album sits atop the Mediabase Country Singles chart this week. Written by Bryan, Dallas Davidson and Ashley Gorley, "What Makes You Country" is already certified platinum and marks the fourth consecutive No. 1 from his album, which dropped in December 2017.
"We reminisced our childhoods and how we were raised when we got together to write this one," Bryan says in a press release. "A small-town upbringing learning work ethic, manners, how to hunt and fish. Just living and enjoying life."
He adds, "I'm proud to be country and that I've been able to follow all my dreams and still remain true to who I am."

On Sunday, March 3, Bryan will return as a judge on American Idol for a second season alongside Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. The kickoff episode starts at 8PM ET on ABC. In celebration of the new season, the judges visited Good Morning America on Wednesday, Feb. 27, where Bryan spoke about returning contestants.
"We've had a couple of kids come back and they took our criticisms," he says. He was impressed with their ability to take constructive criticism and come back better for it, saying it's rewarding for him, as a star, to see.
After the new Idol season wraps, Bryan will be on the road with his buddies Cole Swindell and Jon Langston on his summer-long Sunset Repeat Tour.
