Hear Luke Bryan’s ‘You Look Like Rain’ From His ‘Farm’ EP
Luke Bryan goes back to his country roots on his latest EP Farm Tour … Here’s to the Farmer. Released just in time for his upcoming Farm Tour, which kicks off Oct. 5 and runs through Oct. 15, fans can get a closer glimpse into the country boy with tracks like "Southern Gentleman" and "Love Me in a Field."
One beautiful ballad featured on the five-song EP is "You Look Like Rain," which includes vivid lyrics that have Bryan comparing his love to rain. The nearly four-minute track was written by Tony Lane, Bobby Hamrick and Marti Dodson and has the hip-shaking singer taking a more mature turn as he can be found describing him and his lady as polar opposites:
"You and your Sunday mornings / Me and my Saturday nights / Cause I'm hell up here on a high-wire you're the Hallelujah kind / I'm a desert dry and in my thirsty eyes / You look like rain," he sings on the ballad. The sweet sentiment strikes a chord with soaring string accompaniment and Bryan's sultry vocals.
Bryan is known to be a Southern gentleman, and the Georgia native put a song with that exact title on his EP, too. In an interview with the Boot he describes being a Southern gentleman as having a lot of parameters.
“I think holding women in the utmost highest respect and being polite and being a classy person is certainly a definition of a Southern gentleman," he says. "Conducting yourself with manners and etiquette and being a good person."
