Luke Bryan Crashes Little Big Town’s Party at Ryman Auditorium [Watch]
It was quite the party at Little Big Town's Nashville's Ryman Auditorium residency shows over the weekend (May 19 and 20). The country quartet welcomed longtime friends Luke Bryan, Lee Ann Womack and Alison Krauss to the stage as surprise guests during their two-nights at the famed Mother Church of Country Music.
According to Wide Open Country, Bryan took the stage to screams when he surprised the audience to play his poignant song "Drink a Beer." Fans in attendance captured some of the singer's short set on Instagram, which readers can view above.
While the audience was no doubt excited about Bryan's short performance, Little Big Town were equally grateful their friend spent some time visiting with them.
"Every single night is better than the last. So much love for you Nashville and our special guests @thebrummies @lukebryan @leeannwomack @theryman," Little Big Town caption a photo on Instagram.
Additional highlights from the weekend included Womack performing her song "The Bees," which was featured on her 2008 album Call Me Crazy. Krauss also had some time in the spotlight when she performed the haunting "Ghost in This House."
Little Big Town announced their Ryman residency in November of 2016. The country quartet become the first artists to hold a residency at the Ryman Auditorium in 2017, which also marks the 125th anniversary of the legendary venue.
“We’ll be inviting some people that have inspired us throughout our career to be special guests every night and also to introduce what we think are the future artists of country music,” Karen Fairchild shared with reporters. “It’s going to be a great privilege and honor. We’re very humbled to get to look at all those folks who have inspired us and also to introduce you to new folks that we think will change the course of country music.”
