The storm that rolled through town three weeks ago has forced a well-known Marion business to close for good.

According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, "The Marion Hy-Vee Drugstore, which has been closed since the derecho hit Eastern Iowa on August 10th, will not reopen its doors."

The location of the store is 2790 Seventh Avenue in Marion. This has been a very popular location and I'm sure folks in Marion will be pretty bummed that it will not be reopening.

If you have prescriptions from the store currently, the story noted that everything will be transferred to the Marion Hy-Vee location. The address of that store is 3600 U.S. Highway 151.

As far as the employees, it sounds like they have all been offered positions at other Hy-Vee stores here in the area. Best of luck to all of the folks that were employed at the store and let's hope the transition goes well.

This storm on August 10 was pretty crazy and Marion was hit very hard. I drove through some of the neighborhoods last weekend and I couldn't believe all of the destruction.

Let's hope things can get cleaned up and we can get back to normal around here. It's been a long three weeks not to mention a pretty crazy year.

Stay safe out there eastern Iowa.
