Lindale Mall Pretzelmaker Announces it Will Close

The food court at a mall used to be a sight to see. Some still are. Coralridge Mall in Coralville and Jordan Creek Mall in Des Moines both have large food court areas that get packed during lunch and dinner rushes. Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids has seen its food court dwindle, and now another popular snack spot in the mall has announced it will be closing.

The Pretzelmaker location inside Lindale Mall will be closing soon. A Facebook post yesterday thanked patrons for nearly 18 years in the shopping center. I'll admit that I'm a Pretzelmaker fan. There is just something about warm pretzel bites dipped in butter and cheese that will refuel the mall shopper who has hit a wall. You can even get pretzel-wrapped mini hot dogs!

While Lindale Mall shoppers won't be able to stop by Pretzelmaker, you don't have to drive far to fuel your craving. A new drive-through location opened up at 1115 Blairsferry Road across from Target in July of 2023, according to the Cedar Rapids Gazette. 

If you're doing some shopping at Lindale Mall this month, you might want to stop by and enjoy one final cup of pretzel bites. The Pretzelmaker inside the Cedar Rapids mall will close on September 29th.
