A chase in Linn County involving two juveniles Monday night ended with one of them struck and killed.

According to a media release from the Linn County Sheriff's Department, at approximately 8:55 p.m. Monday evening, a Sheriff's Deputy saw a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Cedar Rapids traveling north on I-380, south of Center Point.

With lights and siren activated, the Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver didn't pull over but instead led the Deputy in a pursuit that continued north on I-380. The vehicle then took the Urbana exit and began to travel west on Highway 150.

In the 2800 block of Highway 150, with the vehicle that had been reported stolen still moving, the two people inside the vehicle fled. The vehicle struck a home, that had people inside at the time. The occupants of the house were not injured.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was hit by the vehicle they'd been driving. That person died at the scene. The passenger was arrested. The Linn County Sheriff's Department says both people inside the vehicle were juveniles. Their names have not been released, pending notification of relatives.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating Monday night's accident.
