John Stamos is Making an Appearance at the 2021 Iowa State Fair
HAVE MERCY!
John Stamos, best known for his portrayal as Uncle Jessie on the iconic show Full House, is headed to Iowa this month! The Iowa State Fair announced this week that he will be performing on the Grandstand stage with the Beach Boys! The post reads:
"Have mercy! This is the best news we've heard all day: John Stamos will be joining the Beach Boys as a special guest (along with Hanson) for their concert on Tuesday, August 17!"
Now, what I didn't realize, is that John Stamos has been doing shows with the Beach Boys for years! According to a story from Today, John first developed a relationship with the band in the 1980s. The article says:
"The actor/musician, who was then appearing on 'General Hospital,' attended one of the band's concerts, where his friend was playing guitar. But he got recognized — and chased, and ended up hiding backstage where he ran into the band."
They ended up bringing John onstage during the encore, and they've been friends ever since! John was even featured in the music video for "Kokomo" back in 1988, and some members of the band appeared on several episodes of Full House.
If you want to see John Stamos perform with the Beach Boys, there are still tickets available for the Tuesday, August 17th show. They run from $30 to $55 and can be purchase on the Iowa State Fair website HERE.
I'm jealous of everybody going to the concert, because when I saw the Beach Boys a few years ago here in Cedar Rapids, John Stamos was nowhere to be found! Make sure to send me photos if you end up going!
