Davenport’s Worst Pothole Photo Contest: How To Enter
Davenport drivers, it is time to grab your cameras (safely) before the city’s most famous craters disappear. As the City of Davenport begins its official pothole repair initiative, local community site What’s Going On QC is hosting a lighthearted photo contest to document the city’s roughest roads.
Turning Road Woes into Fun
The "Davenport’s Worst Pothole Photo Contest" invites residents to share images of the deep dips and suspension-rattling gaps they encounter daily. Organizers say the goal is to find the kind of hole "that collects rainwater and starts to look like a small inland lake."
A Shared Local Experience
The contest isn't meant to criticize city workers, but rather to bond over a common Iowa struggle. The organizers explain:
"This isn’t about shaming streets or pointing fingers. It’s about acknowledging a shared Davenport experience: that moment when you slow down, brace yourself, and hope your alignment survives another day."
How to Join the Search
To enter, residents can post photos of Davenport’s deepest road hazards in the comments or messages of the contest's Facebook page. However, safety remains the priority. "No need to climb into traffic or risk life and limb. Safety first," organizers warned.
While the contest is for fun, residents are still encouraged to report these spots through official city channels to ensure they are patched.
