Illinois And Iowa Girl Scouts Have This Sweet Way You Can Help Troops Overseas

It's always nice to help our military and the Girl Scouts have a unique way to do that.

Girl Scout cookie season is one of the best times of the year. You can justify spending $6 on a small box of cookies because they're bingeable delights that support young female entrepreneurs (Samoas & Tagalongs are elite, always).

The season might be ending but the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois have a great way for you to support our military and essential workers.

Care To Share

For years, the Girl Scouts have been donating cookies to active military and veterans. Our local Girl Scouts have a goal of sending 20,000 packages of cookies to our military through the Care To Share program. Right now they're at about 18,000.

Each $6 donation represents one box of Girl Scout cookies going to someone in the military. You have until April 7th to donate cookies (and buy yourself cookies) through the Girl Scouts' Digital Cookies platform.

All you have to do is type in your zip code (or troop number if you have one) and select 'donation' at the bottom of the form, choose how much you'd like to give, and you're good. The Girl Scouts that you donate cookies through still earn profit on the donations so you're still helping out the girls too.

They are just cookies, but the program is really a great way to help our troops get a sense of home, no matter where they're at.
