It’s Time to Send in Your Nominations for Iowa’s Best Tenderloin
The 2020 Iowa Pork Producer's 'Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin' competition has officially kicked off!
Last month, the Iowa Beef Industry Council announced the finalists in their annual 'Best Burger in Iowa' contest. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the rest of the competition has been postponed, but at least they were able to name this year's top 10 (you can check them out HERE). Now we're changing our focus from burgers to tenderloins!
On April 15th, the Iowa Pork Producers began taking nominations for the 'Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin in Iowa' contest. Nominations are being done online, which means nobody has to risk their safety by venturing out of their home. According to the official website, the rules this year are pretty much the same:
"Nominated tenderloins must be from a restaurant that is typically open year-round with regular hours. The effects of our current situation on establishment hours of operation do not impact eligibility. Food trucks, concession stands, seasonal establishments and catering businesses are not eligible."
There is only one nomination allowed per person and the deadline is June 5th. The winner and runners-up are set to be announced in October, which is National Pork Month. You can send in your favorite restaurant by filling out the form HERE.
The winners from the last 3 years include:
- 2019 - The Pub at the Pinicon in New Hampton
- 2018 - Three C’s Diner in Corning
- 2017 - Grid Iron Grill in Webster City
