Iowa’s Most Popular Attraction Is Right Here In The Corridor
Despite what out-of-towners may think, there's some pretty cool stuff to do in Iowa! Sure states like New York with Time Square and California with Disneyland may be tough to compete with, but that doesn't take away from this great attraction right here in the Corridor.
According to Wideopencountry.com, the figures shown in the graphic "represent the annual number visitors to each attraction".
As you can see, the Amana Colonies are Iowa's biggest attraction bringing in around 800,000 visitors each year. You've gotta admit, the Amanas are pretty unique!
Located just minutes from I-80, the seven villages of the Amana Colonies offers visitors the opportunity to step back from today’s busy pace, to relish in the comfort of locally crafted foods, furniture, art and more. The Colonies offer a unique history and culture found nowhere else in the world." -amanacolonies.com
It is however important to note that Wide Open Country reports that this conclusion is "based on 2009 data from the National Parks, state tourism and other stat sites." So basically, this information could be variable and could have since changed. That being said, it's debatable.
