Iowa Veterans & Military Members Can Get Free Haircuts This Month
Veterans Day is this Saturday, November 11, and to honor our nation's heroes, businesses across Iowa, Illinois, and the U.S. are offering free or discounted services and products.
To make sure our Veterans and active military members look pristine, one hair salon is offering free haircuts starting in November. Customers who aren't a veteran or active military members of America's armed forces can also pay it forward for veterans to get a haircut in the future.
Great Clips Offering Free Haircuts To Our Nation's Heroes
For the 11th consecutive year, Great Clips will honor veterans and active military service members with free haircuts at all Great Clips salons in the United States as part of its annual Thank a Veteran event.
On Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11, veterans and active military service members can go to any Great Clips salon and get a free haircut or a card for a free haircut that can be redeemed during a future visit.
Non-military customers who get a haircut at a Great Clips salon on November 11 will also receive a free haircut card that can be given to a veteran or active military service member in their life to thank them for their service. These cards can be redeemed for a free haircut from November 12 through December 1, 2023.
David Hands, Central Illinois and Eastern Iowa Franchise Owner said,
“We’re proud to extend this offer for the eleventh year, continuing the tradition of showing our appreciation and support to veterans and active military service members. This is one way of saying thank you to those who protect and serve our country while also giving all customers the opportunity to pay it forward to service members in their lives.”
More Than $30 Million In Free Haircuts
Since this promotion began in 2012, Great Clips salons have provided more than two million free haircuts to active and veteran military service members, totaling more than $31 million in complimentary haircuts.
In addition to its annual promotion, Great Clips honors service members and veterans through its support of Operation: Healing Heroes Foundation. The organization began as a television series dedicated to sharing the stories of veterans across generations with people throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception in 2015, Operation: Healing Heroes Foundation has treated over 900 veterans to outdoor experiences free of charge. After witnessing the power and healing effects that outdoor experiences could have on post-traumatic stress, the organization expanded in 2019 to provide financial support to veterans seeking treatment for PTSD.
