Most of us can attest to the strong winds that whipped across the state yesterday. It brought more rain to most of the listening area. But it also ushered in severe weather for a portion of the state as well. What was thought to be wind damage near the town of Adair, Iowa has now been confirmed as an EF2 tornado with winds between 120 and 130 mph.

And as sad as damage is to a home, the worst news is that this storm claimed a life. 74-year-old Linda Lee Brownlee was killed and her 78-year-old husband, Harold Brownlee, was injured. He was flown to MercyOne Medical Center for treatment. He's in critical but stable condition. The storm reportedly moved through the area at around 1:33 a.m.
