Both Cyclones head basketball coaches have agreed to contract extensions, and one of them is getting a big raise.

Iowa State Director of Athletics, Jamie Pollard, announced via a morning press release that both men's coach, Steve Prohm, and women's coach, Bill Fennelly, have signed extensions through 2022.

The Iowa State men's team made their sixth consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament this month, after winning the Big 12 Tournament. In his two years as the Cyclones head man, Prohm has led Iowa State to a 47-23 record. His contract was extended through June 30, 2022 and he receives a $500,000 yearly increase to $2 million per season.

The Cyclones women's team appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the 10th time in the last 11 seasons behind head coach Bill Fennelly. His 22-year record as Iowa State's head coach is 465-236. His contract was also extended through June 30, 2022. He did not receive an increase in pay.

The success of the Cyclones programs is obvious when you look at their combined attendance. It stands at 23,381 per game at Hilton Coliseum, fourth-best in the NCAA this past season.

Great moves, Iowa State. More victories and fans are sure to follow.
