WalletHub put together a list of the most and least stressed-out states in America, and we were only beat out by two states!

Stress levels reached their lowest point in a decade back in 2016, but, unfortunately, they're back on the rise for 2017. What stresses Americans out the most? The big three are pretty obvious: money, work and the economy. This year, though, there have been some new stress factors involving politics and the outcome of the presidential election.

The site WalletHub ranked all 50 states (plus D.C.) based on 33 key indicators of stress, including work hours, credit scores, job security, and crime rates. Iowa did pretty darn good, coming in at #49 on the list. That means only two states beats us: North Dakota and Minnesota. In the category of affordable housing, we ranked in 1st place, and we were 4th for "lowest % of adults in fair/poor health."

While a lot of Midwest states ranked as the least stressed-out, a lot of Southern states ranked the opposite. The three most stressed-out states in the U.S. are Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
