Iowa, Illinois In The Top 10 States Struggling The Most In Hiring
Businesses throughout the country have been struggling for a while to find people to hire since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The struggle remains a reality still for many businesses, including here in the corridor. But businesses in certain states are struggling more than others. Iowa and Illinois are actually among the top 10 states struggling the most in hiring.
A new study has come out from our friends at WalletHub showing the States Where Employers Are Struggling the Most in Hiring. In order to find out which states have employers that are struggling the most and the least in hiring people, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia based on two metrics:
- The rate of job openings for the latest month
- The rate of job openings for the last 12 months
WalletHub then used these metrics to create its running list and rank-order the states and the District from those that struggle the most with hiring to those that struggle the least.
After doing the research and the math, WalletHub created its updated/running list of States Where Employers Are Struggling the Most in Hiring. As you can see below, Iowa and Illinois are towards the top which is a bad place to be.
According to WalletHub, Iowa is the 5th state with employers struggling the most to hire people. These are the statistics for Iowa:
- Job openings rate during the latest month: 8.70%
- Job openings rate in the past 12 months: 6.83%
Illinois isn't too far behind Iowa. WalletHub found that Illinois is the 8th state with employers struggling the most to hire people These are the statistics for Illinois:
- Job openings rate during the latest month: 8.40%
- Job openings rate in the past 12 months: 6.85%
