Representatives for a north-central Iowa high school group decided earlier this week to cut a spring break trip to Europe short, due to air travel restrictions announced by President Trump.

Students from Northwood-Kensett High School in extreme north-central Iowa left for Spain last Saturday, March 7.

The decision for the students, from a Spanish class at the school, and their chaperones to return was made quickly. Dan Block's son Thomas is on the trip. Dan told KIMT,

When the President announced the travel restriction, maybe 3 hours or so later, I got a phone call later that EF [Tours] was working on it. By the time I woke up this morning, the plan was in place. I think this is pretty prompt action. If they get out of a couple days there but learn a lesson on evacuation, that's money well spent too.

The group is scheduled to land in Minneapolis today.
