Iowa football player Brady Reiff was trying to do the right thing. He was trying to get in an Uber instead of driving while intoxicated on Saturday night in Iowa City. The only problem? He thought a nearby police car was his Uber driver.

The 22-year-old Reiff was arrested early Saturday morning after he attempted to get into a U of I police cruiser. Officials say at around 2 a.m., Reiff attempted to open the vehicle's passenger door. When he noticed there was someone there, he moved to the back door and attempted to open it. When asked what he was doing, Reiff asked for a ride home. When police asked if he thought this was Uber, he replied "Yes."

A breathalyzer test showed that Reiff's blood alcohol level was .204, nearly twice the legal limit to drive. He was arrested and taken to the Johnson County Jail. He was released on Saturday morning. Iowa Football coach Kirk Ferentz announced on Monday that Reiff will be suspended for the season opener against Northern Illinois on September 1st.
