Yes, These Hawkeyes Could Play For Big Ten Title
The college football season is full of ups and downs. Just ask a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan. Earlier this season we witnessed a team that couldn't score, whose coaching staff seemed out of touch, and who had a 1-3 conference record. What was the problem? It just wasn't November yet.
Yes, these Iowa Hawkeyes continue to be Kings of November. When the final gun sounded as the Hawkeyes had defeated Wisconsin on Saturday by the score of 24-10, Iowa had done it again. It was the program's 13th straight win during the month of November, according to the Cedar Rapids Gazette. And it makes perfect sense. This offense, like the weather this time of year, can be ugly. But there is no better formula for winning football games in the Midwest during fall and winter weather than what this Iowa football team plays.
That formula continues to be a great defense and special teams play, and an offense that scores just enough points to win. Earlier this year the offense wasn't holding up its part of the deal. But three straight wins later, this Iowa team sits at 6-4 and is officially bowl-eligible. Football is fun again in Iowa City! And suddenly a season on the brink, is now on the verge of another Big Ten Championship Game appearance!
If the Hawkeyes can finish the year off with wins at Minnesota and at home versus Nebraska they will more than likely win the Big Ten West Division and make a return trip to the Big Ten Championship game. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Kings of November travel to Minnesota this Saturday. Game time against the Gophers is 3 p.m. Saturday with the game televised by FOX. It is our time. It is our month.
